Kaiser Permanente Bolt to the Q

Kaiser Permanente Bolt to the Q

On July 24th, take part in the sixth annual Kaiser Permanente Bolt to the Q in San Diego! Grab your friends and family and sign up today for either a 5K, 10K, or a Kids Fun Run that starts at Qualcomm Stadium, weaves its way through San Diego, and ends at the Charges 50 yard line.

Need incentive to participate? Signing up gets you a Nike DriFIT Shirt, a Commemorative Finisher’s Medal, Age Group Awards, and 30% off any regular priced item at the stadium team store when you show your racing bib. If you’re still not convinced, a tailgate party will be held postrace with plenty of beer for those who can legally drink.

There’s also a myriad of events for kids. Get them excited and involved in kicking off the Chargers 2016 season by signing them up to run the half-mile run in Qualcomm Stadium. Each entry for the Kids Fun Run will include a "Companion Bib" for a parent or guardian. This will allow the accompanying adult to either run with their child or pick them up from the finish line area. It's suggested that parents of children seven or younger should run with their child, but the race is open to kids 4–12. Note that there is no extra cost for the accompanying adult so long as they're wearing the "Companion Bib." The entire Kids Fun Run will take place inside of the stadium.

Need some bonding time with your coworkers, employees, or customers? Register for the second annual Chargers Corporate Cup. Not only will your team get the same t-shirts and finisher medals as the other runners, the winning team with the most runners will also receive the Corporate Cup Trophy and a group photo on the 50 yard line after the race! Show your team pride and join in on the fun, as well as getting exercise in a competitive and exciting way. Feel free to make team t-shirts with your company logo so the competition knows who’s passing them by during the race.

Companies that pre-purchase team entries are eligible for the Corporate Cup VIP Event packages which include prerace hospitality, a courtesy bag check, a meet-and-greet with the Chargers players, coaches, and alumni, and a food and drink voucher after the race. Check out the Corporate Cup VIP packages and ask your HR department to support your team! All teams are eligible for the Corporate Cup so long as they select create or join a team when registering. Only teams that pre-purchase entries via the Corporate Cup VIP Program are eligible for the prerace VIP benefits. Don’t forget that the winning team with the most runners will receive the Corporate Cup Trophy and a group photo on the 50 yard line after the race! Both the 10K and 5K runs have a 90 minute time limit. 10K runners should maintain a 15 min per mile pace and 5K runners should maintain a 20 min per mile pace. All walkers should register for the 5K, due to city road closure requirements.

Only participants of the races will be allowed on the field. There will also be a prize for the fastest male and female runner in the 40 yard dash (last 40 yards before the finish line). Overall winners are excluded from age group awards. There is no age group award ceremony, so age group awards should be picked up at the conclusion of the event. Note that age group awards will not be mailed post event, so make sure to pick them up before you leave. Thanks to Easy Day Sports and The Chargers, Active Duty Military members will receive an exclusive discount to run in the races.

If you aren’t a runner or for any reason can’t physically run in the race, consider volunteering! All volunteers receive light refreshments and a commemorative tshirt. The times for each respective event are as follows: 10K Start Time: 7:05am 5K Start Time: 7:30am 1/2 Mile Kids Fun Run Start Time: 9:15am
