I’m originally from small mining town on the Western Slope of Colorado just outside of Vail and spent most of my childhood hiking, fishing and skiing in the Rocky Mountains. I’m #2 out of 8 kids and learned early on in life that negotiation in all things is key to achieving most anything... big or small. I arrived in San Diego to pursue college at University of San Diego having achieved an academic scholarship thru Sacred Heart Women’s Scholarship Fund from Holy Family High School in Denver.
I worked full time in the Hospitality business with Atlas Hotels while attending the University. As one of the original Concierge in San Diego I was one of the founding members of the Concierge Association of San Diego while attending USD. Intending to go to law school the experience as an intern real estate paralegal revealed that a law career was not a good fit. Immediately upon graduation I joined Home Federal Savings and Loan and quickly accelerated from New Accounts to Consumer Loans and Employee Training.
It was one of my clients at Home Federal that encouraged me... actually demanded that I get my real estate license and actually paid for me to take the real estate licensing courses. Orlo Michaelson - He saw in me unique qualities I did not see in myself. I love people and helping people makes me the most happy. He said often "You have Everything It Takes". That kind of encouragement can move mountains. It certainly moved me.
I started my real estate career in 1989. Some say it was the worst time as interest rates were high, the banking industry was in crisis and international conflicts were looming. The real estate industry was upside down. However I knew that if I worked hard, stayed focused and delivered the very best service to my buyers and sellers that I would be successful. It would be 10 years before I actually took a vacation ~ that’s when I met my husband Gordon. I married a guy who loves life, works hard, and makes everyone around him smile.
My real estate career began in La Jolla and coastal corridor. An opportunity in Del Mar/Rancho Santa Fe brought me to North County where I’ve been since 1992. I know the North County market, La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Point Loma and Downtown areas very well as a result of many years in Corporate Relocation. I know San Diego! I joined Coldwell Banker 23 years ago because Coldwell Banker has an international reach beyond the scope of any other real estate brokerage. Coldwell Banker is recognized as the leader in real estate regardless of the condition of the market or market cycle. The high level of integrity and amazing tools Coldwell Banker offers along with the experience, enthusiasm and technology my team brings to every transaction is exceptional. Excellence is my goal in all things - always.
I’ve been in the top 1% of agents nationally for over 20 years. Celebrating my 28th year in real estate this year seems surreal as I feel like I just got started! I’m passionate about real estate and the opportunity it gives people to create memories, build dreams and design long term futures for themselves and their families. I’m now selling homes to clients and their adult children - a new generation of buyers and sellers ~ now that’s exciting!
I am so grateful to have the loyalty of so many past clients and the support of amazing friends and colleagues. My past clients are indeed my greatest blessing as they refer me to friends, colleagues and neighbors. Looking forward to a wonderful 2017 and success for everyone buying or selling in San Diego. We live in paradise and I feel like I am "Living the Dream".
