San Diego Musical Theatre (SDMT) announced the cast and creative team for the San Diego regional premiere of 9 to 5: The Musical. Based on the seminal hit film, 9 to 5 features music and lyrics by Grammy Award Winner Dolly Parton, book by Patricia Resnick, direction by Cynthia Ferrer and choreography by Tamlyn Shusterman. Performances run February 10th–26th at the historic Spreckels Theatre.
A hilarious musical adaptation of the film starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and legendary composer and lyricist Dolly Parton, 9 to 5 follows three female co-workers pushed the boiling point with their sexist and egotistical boss. Together these unlikely partners conspire to take control of the office and achieve the ultimate workplace revenge. 9 to 5 is a jubilant musical about friendship and getting ahead in the Rolodex era of the late 1970s. The show features Dolly Parton’s original hit title song, "9 to 5," which won garnered her an Oscar nomination and multiple Grammy Award nominations.
Performances run February 10th–26th, 2017 at the Spreckels Theatre in downtown San Diego. Showtimes are Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm, and Sunday at 2:00pm.
