We all spend a day at home every now and then. That's pretty nice too. Right now these days are accumulating involuntarily and nobody really knows when the world outside will go up again. Netflix , Youtube & Co. are very helpful, but somehow boring in the long run. One can go online and try providers like Pala, or have fun with countless games on the internet.
We’ve gotten so accustomed to online activities, that when it comes to being offline, most of us don’t know what they can do with their spare time. So that you don't get overwhelmed by boredom in the end, we have the 10 (really) best things for you to pass the time at home - and no matter why you are at home: you can fall back on them at any time.
1. Redesign your rooms
Do you still like your four walls the way they are? Often you notice little things or you get a spontaneous inspiration, but the next appointment calls and the idea is forgotten. Now is the ideal opportunity to take it on. Redesign your rooms, try a new style, decorate for the fall.
2. Read a book or write yourself
Books are definitely high on the list of pastimes. They take you into strange worlds, make you laugh and cry and make yourself the main character. If you're not that big of a bookworm, why not give a non-fiction book a try on a topic that interests you.
Or grab a pen and paper yourself and let your imagination run wild. Whether it's a short story, a whole book or maybe a diary or bullet journal: Writing helps a lot to pass the time and it feels really good to have created something.
3. Learn new languages and brush up on old ones
Is there a language that you've always wanted to learn or that you want to brush up on? Then now is the ideal time for it. Grab a dictionary, notebooks, register for an online language course and prepare yourself for the time when you can leave your four walls and the whole country again.
4. Swing the brush and discover your inner Picasso
Painting and drawing are also among the leisure activities that require some time and patience. Perfect, because you have it right now! It doesn't have to be a masterpiece - or maybe it does? Here in particular there are so many areas in which you can try out yourself. Maybe you will discover unimagined talents.
Watercolor painting, for example, or hand lettering - the combination of calligraphy and drawing elements. And did you know that there is painting by numbers for us big kids too? That takes a couple of days.
5. Turn your room into your gym
Who says you have to give up exercise? Yoga , stretching, dry exercises ... All of this can be done on the floor without any problems. And don't be afraid of new sports: there are tips for just about anything on the Internet to use at home. For example, for a jump in figure skating or a boxing move.
With a few empty bottles and a ball, you could even play bowling. All that is needed here is a little creativity.
6. Spend quality time with family
Call your parents again, your grandparents and other relatives. Let's be honest, it goes without saying that it often comes up short in everyday life and may not seem like a valuable suggestion at first glance.
Or sit down together (but not too close ...) if you live in the same house, dig out the old games - by the way, puzzles can also take a lot of time - and just enjoy being together a bit.
7. Craft, knitting, crocheting, carving - try something new
Now is the perfect opportunity to become active as well as creative: carving, pottery, painting, repairing something, crocheting or knitting; there are so many directions here in which to try out or improve. Knitting packages, for example, are a good start, especially for beginners. Here you can get the yarn you need and instructions.
8. Get into photography
It's time to go over, reminisce, and sort out your old photos. Have you ever thought of making a photo book? It's a nice, creative task and the pictures live longer there than on the mobile phone.
Editing pictures yourself can also be a lot of fun. And of course you can hone your photographic skills yourself. The virtual world works just as well inside.
9. Have a wellness day
Pamper yourself again extensively. Now you have time to treat yourself to everything that belongs to such a wellness day for you. Be it cosmetics or a long bath, a nice hot chocolate and a long nap - yes, now you can catch up on the sleep you have always complained about lacking. It's just a suggestion.
But an all-round feel-good day is certainly a good one.
10. Cooking & Baking
At home, the kitchen also includes and you would not be the only one who would be drawn there to express your creative streak. And no, you don't necessarily have to leave the house for that. Open your pantry, see what's inside and throw it together. There is enough inspiration and help on the Internet. Who knows, the new traditional family recipe may soon emerge at your home. Or a baking book full of random creations.
