Fall into fashion with the latest colors! Pantone released their fall 2016 color palette, and with the chic fall colors comes a blend of bright new makeup. This fall is all about shades of blue and earth tones with a surprising pop of color in the mix. Sharkskin, Aurora Red, Dusty Cedar, Potter’s Clay and Lush Meadow by Pantone will be the colors to look for at the makeup counter this fall—enjoy stunning shades of your favorite palettes this season.
Although gray may seem like a winter color, this year the blueish-gray Sharkskin is taking over. Not only does gray look good as a garment color, you can play it up on your eyes too. Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Desperation (Sephora, $20) captures the Sharkskin flair. Urban Decay’s eyeliner is a great way to rock this fall color and adopt delicate eyes. Be careful with different shades of gray, as they can easily wash you out.
Red is a year-round color, but there are too many shades of red to choose. For the fall, Aurora Red (a deep, rusty red) will look great worn as a lipstick or an eyeshadow. This color is classified as a bold, warm red and is easy on the eyes. Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss Lipstick in Archangel (Sephora, $21) is a matte burnt red that will become a staple this fall.
A fancy name for dusty rose, Dusty Cedar is a sweet blush color for fall. Desert Rose by MAC (MAC, $22) adds a wash of color to the face. This warm, muted pink is a great transition color into fall because it still has the qualities of a summery pink. Experts agree that Dusty Cedar is a nod to Pantone’s Color of the Year, Rose Quartz.
Potter’s Clay––a burnt orange––is the most traditional fall color out of the bunch, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting. Nars Duo in Mediteranee (Sephora, $35) comes with a golden apricot color to complement the real star of the show, which is the burnt orange. This duo is a one-stop shop for the perfect fall eye look. Use the orange as an all over lid color, then highlight your brow bone and tear duct with the golden apricot!
When you think of green grass, you should think of Pantone’s Lush Meadow! A jewel tone that adds an incredible pop of color, Lush Meadow brings a spark of energy to the eye. Clinique’s Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in teal (Sephora, $17) is the shade to reach for when lusting after a fun change that compliments anyone with blue or green eyes. Simply smudge the color under your eyes or layer it over your eyelid for an easy look.
