Summer is coming and it's time to get outside for some fun in the sun! To put your best skin forward, check out the tips below.

Water, Water Everywhere!

Keep drinking. Don't get in the car without your trusty water bottle, take it with you to the gym, class, work, the grocery store and anywhere else you can think. Dehydration, particularly in the heat, is terribly hard on the body and will show up in you your skin eventually.

Avoid the Salt

Convenience food is easy in the summer because nobody wants to heat up the house while cooking. However, convenience foods are loaded with salt and chemicals. Do your best to fill up on fresh produce and leave the chips behind.

Keep Your Face Clean

As soon as many of us start to sweat, that layer of foundation turns into a zit factory. Try not to wear pore-clogging makeup unless you have to. Go light on the base whenever possible and remove your makeup before you head out into the heat.

If you do suffer a breakout and need to clean up blockages and blackheads, make sure you have the right tools for the job.

Go Light on the Facials

Unless you burn your face, go light on moisturizer if you're prone to pimples and blackheads. Don't forget the eye cream, but avoid waxy facial treatments or anything that feels heavy. Many of us break out because our skin is struggling to breathe.

enjoy a gentle facial massage with a foaming cleanser or exfoliant to freshen your skin. The apply moisturizers with a light hand.

Keep Up the Healthy Winter Habits

Even though cold and flu season is over, you need your vitamins. Vitamin C is particularly critical to maintaining healthy skin. Your Vitamin D will go further thanks to all the sunlight you're enjoying. Even though it gets dark later, get yourself in bed and try to get a good nights rest.

The Most Important Rule

Of course, you want to protect your face and eyes from too much sun exposure, so stick with your sunglasses and WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN! A hat to protect your hair is also a good choice.

Final Thoughts

By keeping your skin clean and protecting it from sun damage, you can put your best face forward all summer long. Enjoy your summer holidays!
