As a self-motivated, conscientious real estate agent with a strong work ethic, my underlying philosophy of "service first" means that my clients’ needs are paramount. I work diligently to understand each client’s goals and to always exemplify trust, transparency and integrity. My reputation for honest communication and active listening has made me a trusted advisor for the people with whom I work. As a dedicated, personable and approachable real estate agent, I give clients highly personalized attention and work around their schedules.
I owe a lot of who I am today to my father, Filiberto—the hardest worker I have ever known. Very disciplined and structured, he always had a routine and owned his own landscaping company. But it was architecture that really captured my interest in high school, where I took a drafting class. I loved the design of homes. I used to buy House Trader magazines at the 7-11, bringing them home and circling all the houses I wanted to buy.
When I was 18, I got my first credit card, and immediately used the $1000 limit to buy my first piece of land for $995. It was a little plot in Deming, New Mexico that I still own today. As I was learning about real estate, I discovered that many people can’t buy a house because they lack good credit. I started a program to help people get their credit where it needs to be to buy a house. Even before that, I was playing cupid with homeowners and investors, meeting people in distress who needed to sell their house and helping them get matched with someone who could buy it.
While I was always on the lookout for opportunities, I also had a full-time job at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad. I started as a dishwasher in the banquets department and worked my way up to banquet supervisor over the years. All the while, I worked toward building my real estate business. In fact, my first client was one of my coworkers at the resort. Shortly after I earned my license in 1998, I helped sell her house and got her into a new condo.
My children, Ethan and Mikayla, changed my life dramatically not only as a father, but also as a professional. In the catering industry, my shifts were often nights or overnight, and I had to work on most holidays, too. But my young children motivated me to make real estate my primary job to spend more time with them. It’s because of my kids that I worked so hard to succeed, and I finally went full-time in 2004.
Buying or selling real estate is an important transaction, and the representation you receive from your agent can have a significant impact on your results. I’ve worked hard as a professional to provide the highest level of service, and I promise to work diligently to exceed your expectations. When you or someone you know is in need of a real estate agent, I hope you give me the opportunity to demonstrate my services and interview for the job.
