The firm, compassionate Faye holds them together, and she’s only months away from retiring with her full pension. The production, shown at the Globe's theatre-in-the-round, details the 2008 auto crisis in Detroit. As auto plants begin shutting down, Faye, mere months away from retirement, is stuck between loyalty to her coworkers and her own personal goals. The production, directed by Delicia Turner Sonnenberg, premieres April 13th; in the meantime, we spoke with actress Tonye Patano about Skeleton Crew, the Detroit crisis, and what she keeps in the truck of her car.

TRAVELS WITH MY AUNT

Eccentric Aunt Augusta swoops in and shakes up the life of her staid bourgeois nephew. She ignites the lust for adventure that is buried within his gray flannel soul. Four highly versatile actors tackle more than 20 roles in this life-changing, offbeat odyssey. Travels with My Aunt previews begin Wednesday, April 12. Opening Night on Saturday, April 15, at 8pm, includes a post-show reception. There will be a special talkback on Friday, April 21, with the cast and artistic director. It will play Wednesdays at 7pm, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm, Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2pm with Sundays at 7pm, through May 7, 2017.

April marks the start of new beginnings, and as we welcome spring with open arms, we can’t help but feel a tinge of anticipation for the sunny months ahead. As we flow blissfully through these pleasant spring days, a garden filled with fresh blossoms and a visit from our egg-hiding friend Mr. Easter Bunny shouldn’t be the only thing to get excited about! FINE Magazine has partnered up with The Forum Carlsbad and La Costa Canyon High School Foundation to bring San Diegans a new and fresh event: April in Bloom.
Saturday April 29th marks the date of the event, which will feature an extravagant fashion show, delicious foods, a live auction, a hat contest, and flowing wine. The evening will begin at 6pm in the Forum Carlsbad, where DJ Danny will break the ice with tunes that you can’t help but dance to. Guests will be enticed with food tastings from some of San Diego’s finest culinary hot spots, with fine wines and beer to wash it all down.
PET DAY ON THE BAY

Join us for Pet Day on The Bay ‑ the only pet-friendly event of its kind in Southern California! Pet Day is a towel and blanket drive and fundraiser benefiting the homeless animals of the Helen Woodward Animal Center. For 16 years, Hornblower has offered the popular, pup-friendly Pet Day on San Diego Bay, which serves up a tail-wagging good time! Hornblower invites dogs to cruise for free with their owners. People board for just $25 per ticket. Guests are also encouraged to donate a gently-used blanket or towel that will warm needy animals at the Helen Woodward Animal Center.
Mission Federal Art Walk
MISSION FEDERAL ARTWALK

Mission Federal ArtWalk is San Diego’s premier arts and cultural event and is returning to Little Italy in downtown San Diego from Saturday, April 25 to Sunday, April 26 for its 31st annual event. The event will fill 17 blocks and feature over 350 artists from all over San Diego, the U.S. and Mexico— showcasing every medium, including painting, sculpture, glass work, photography, fine jewelry and more. The weekend will be an exciting event for the whole family, which will include not only art, but music, live performances, street food, interactive art activities and the family friendly Kidswalk, offering a wide variety of projects to engage in. Mission Federal ArtWalk will be located between Ash and Grape Street in Little Italy from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Attendance is free.
