Wine & Wears for the San Diego Symphony

It’s that time of year again! The time when charity functions across the board begin raising funds to benefit their organization of choice. In this case, the San Diego Symphony (SDS) is the beneficiary of the funds raised at the Wine & Wears function in San Diego.

On April 6th the Wine & Wears title will live up to its name as wine and slightly worn wears will be auctioned off to benefit the San Diego Symphony. The charity function will take place at the Westgate Hotel in San Diego, located on 2nd Avenue, near the heart of San Diego.

90+ point wines will be available throughout the night. As well as an abundance of wine at the event, new or gently used designer fashion pieces will be sold. Other prizes displayed amidst the event will also be auctioned off for sale to benefit the San Diego Symphony. Bidding will take place over the night, consisting of fabulous experiences, fancy wine, and gently worn fashion finds. Food is provided with admission and includes heavy hors d’oeuvers, signature cocktails, and wine. There will also be live entertainment throughout the night. Proceeds will go the San Diego Symphony’s Family Festival "Best & Brightest" along with other community programs the organizations provides.

The San Diego Symphony leads in excellent musical programs, as well as ensembles that are top tier in their division. Starting in the year of 1910, the San Diego Symphony Orchestra has become one of the leading orchestras in the United States! Dedication and strict restrictions add to the success of the ensemble and continue each year with new artists.

The symphony calls Copley Symphony Hall inside the Jacobs Music Center home. It possesses a rich historic value and is known as one of the finest theaters on the west coast. Since 1984, the San Diego Symphony Orchestra Association has owned this rustic theater.

The San Diego Symphony makes it a point to reach out to the community in various forms of school-affiliated programs and workshops. The community also gets the advantage of having a widely successful number of musicians gain national recognition.

Tickets start at a general admission fee of $150, and VIP admission is $300. VIP admission includes the basic perks general admission comes with, but it also includes special amenities such as valet parking, early and private access to the event, and access to the VIP lounge. And considering what a great cause the tickets go towards charity wise, it’s okay to indulge in the pricier venture.

So if the ultimate girl’s night out with wine and gently worn fashion sounds like your cup of tea, head on down to the Westgate Hotel on April 6th at 6 pm (if you possess VIP passes, make that 5:30 pm for a sneak preview).

Tickets to the event can be purchased online at the San Diego Symphony website. By contacting Malina Baker at (619) 615-3906 or mbaker@sandiegosymphony.org, you can donate an item for the auction!
