Nice job America! According to a recent study American drinking habits have undergone a major shift in the last decade, and you are now drinking less soda and more water! But you can be honest: your water is getting a little boring.
One way to bust out of your flavorless rut is by flavoring you water (naturally!) – infusing it with fruits, vegetables, herbs and anything else you want to throw in to give you water some zing!
I recently snagged my own handy flavor infused water bottle ($15), and became my very own mixologist, experimenting with different flavors.

I started simple, cutting up some strawberries, tossing them in the bottle’s inner filter, filling the rest of the bottle with water and refrigerating the whole thing for 30 minutes.
Simple as that, and you have a refreshing and low calorie Strawberry flavored water!
Other super thirst-quenching ideas include cucumber-apple, raspberry-lime, watermelon-cherry and citrus (orange-lime-lemon).
Or get more fancy! I tried out combinations like watermelon-rosemary, pineapple-mint, pear-lemongrass and blackberry-sage, and they were all delicious!
You can also try adding jalapenos or red bell peppers if you want to give your water some kick!
Or if you would rather a less G-rated beverage, all of the above mixtures work just as well with vodka in place of water! Just make sure to use quality brand vodka and infuse for as long as it takes to achieve the desired flavor, which can take a few days or a couple weeks, so you might want to taste it regularity!
Do you have any delicious flavor combination ideas?? Please share!
