Not every CBD product is based on a good idea. Many manufacturers are launching new products with "CBD" stamped on the label simply to capitalize on the trend. CBD chocolate, however, it’s not just some trend-seeking concoction. It’s a genuinely good idea, and you should try it.

CBD 101

CBD is a calming substance extracted from hemp. It’s a cannabinoid, and like THC, it is found in cannabis plants. However, CBD does not get you high. The only effect it has on your state of mind is making you relaxed and potentially sleepy.

On top of calming properties, CBD has a wide range of health benefits. The substance is a natural analgesic and an anti-inflammatory. It also has anxiolytic properties, and is rich in antioxidants, helping promote health and well-being through your body.

Science is still catching up with the CBD trend, and many of the health claims associated with the substance still need to be studied. That said, the mountain of anecdotal evidence in favor of CBD cannot be ignored. According to a Gallup poll published in 2019, one in seven Americans have already tried a CBD product, and experts estimate that the market will be worth $26 billion by 2026.

Why add it to chocolate?

There are many aspects of chocolate that make it a convenient vehicle for CBD.

1 - Health

Chocolate is in no way a healthy food. It’s usually full of sugars and fats, which make it less than ideal for daily consumption, even in moderate amounts. That said, chocolate does have health benefits. Moderate consumption has been associated with lower levels of stress and a lower risk of developing health conditions. Chocolate is also rich in antioxidants.

The three health benefits mentioned above are also observed in CBD. Meaning that mixing both will allow you to compound the health effects of each substance, at least in theory. If you were looking for a way to feel less guilty about enjoying this sugary treat, CBD chocolate might be the solution.

2 - Flavor

The distinct flavor of chocolate is beloved by many, and CBD chocolate tastes great as well. There are two ways to go about adding CBD to chocolate: you can either use a plant byproduct, such as oil or a tincture. Or you can use CBD isolate.

Using a plant product will give the chocolate an earthly taste, which is something producers can build upon to create unique flavors. CBD isolate, on the other hand, is tasteless. Which allows you to enjoy the familiar flavor without alterations.

3 - Convenience

Like many edibles, CBD chocolate is easy to carry and easy to dose on the fly. Most chocolate bars are poured into molds that make them easy to break, and the label will likely tell you how much CBD is contained in each piece of the chocolate.

CBD and weed gummies are popular enough that an adult carrying around gummies raises eyebrows. But chocolate? Nobody suspects chocolate. And while CBD is legal in many parts of the world, it’s still nice to be discrete and preserve your privacy.

It is also easy to mix chocolate and CBD. All you need is to melt chocolate, then mix it with some CBD oil or an isolate. You can find both at Cibdol.com.
