Southern Utah is a haven for nature lovers, especially when it comes to the multiple natural parks found across the area. It’s why RV travellers tend to go there so often. That’s led to countless RV resorts and parks popping up around the area, with Settler’s Junction being one of the more notable.
As one of the newer, and larger, RV parks to go for, it’s gotten a lot of attention since opening. But, is it actually worth using for your RV trip?
Since where you’re staying is one of the more important decisions you’ll have to make for the trip, it’s worth going through a Settler’s Junction review or two before making a decision. It’s worth knowing a few things before putting any money down on it.
What is Settler's Junction RV Resort?
Settler’s Junction RV Resort is a full-hookup RV park nicely nestled in Southern Utah. Built with larger rigs in mind, it offers spacious pull-through sites, paved roads, and large turning radiuses that make pulling in and getting set-up as easy as possible. Even if you’re a first-time RV driver, this seems to be relatively easy to do.
Unlike other RV camps in the area, Settler’s Junction feels intentionally designed. The layout’s a lot more open than some older counterparts, and the facilities are a lot more modern. It’s a lot more than a bare-bones approach that you could see with a few alternatives.
Where Is It?
The actual location of an RV campsite is always worth focusing on. It’s one thing being in Southern Utah, but you wouldn’t want to drive too far just to get to everything. Thankfully, this seems to be one of Settler’s Junction’s biggest drawing points.
The resort sits just off of Interstate 15, putting it in the heart of Southern Utah’s national parks hub. This puts it quite close to:
Zion National Park
Sand Hollow State Park
Quail Creek Reservoir
Bryce Canyon
And, there seems to be a lot more within a relatively short drive, too. Many of the above seem to be within 15 or 20 minute’s drive, with Zion National Park being the only that takes longer, even if it still doesn’t take too long.
But, this still begs the question as to whether Settler’s Junction is actually worth staying at, making it worth getting into a little bit more.
Settler's Junction RV Resort Review: Going a Little Deeper
Pros:
Prime Location - The RV resort’s location places it close to almost everything you’ll want to see. You’ll still have to drive, but it shouldn’t have to take too long.
Modern Facilities - Because Settler’s Junction is newer than many alternatives, its facilities and amenities are a lot more modern.
Resort-Style Extras - Settler’s Junction has a lot more of a resort feel thanks to amenities like heated pools, fitness centers, and more.
Spacious Sites - The sites on the RV park are more spacious than many other options, and there’s no problem getting comfortable on them.
Cons:
Limited Natural Shade - There isn’t a whole lot of natural shade. While this isn’t an issue if you’re prepared, it can still be a bit of an irritation.
Pricing - Settler’s Junction isn’t exactly the lowest-cost option to go for. It’s not the most expensive, but you could have to pay a slight premium here.
Campground Amenities
Amenities are one of the main areas to focus on when you’re picking somewhere to stay. Thankfully, this is an area that Settler’s Junction seems to have invested in. There’s a reason why it’s an RV resort rather than a typical RV camp.
Some of the more notable amenities you can expect during your stay include:
Clubhouse and Gathering Spaces
Heated Outdoor Pool
Sauna
Fitness Center
Fenced Dog Parks
And, these aren’t there just for the sake of being there. They’re actually high-quality and well-maintained, and this is especially appreciated for the laundry and shower facilities.
The wi-fi’s another bonus here, as it’s a lot more high-quality than in many other RV parks. If you plan on streaming any movies while you’re there, for example, this shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Quality of Services
Service quality can often be a bit of a sticky issue for countless people. Most RV trippers have had at least one or two bad experiences in various places. But, this doesn’t seem to be too much of an issue at Settler’s Junctions. Most reviews online highlight this, too.
Check-ins tend to be relatively smooth, and the staff are friendly and seem to be on-hand for when you need them. Then there’s the fact everything seems to be clean and well-maintained, so issues shouldn’t come up during your stay. If they do, they should be sorted relatively quickly.
Value for Money
While Settler’s Junction isn’t exactly the most expensive RV campground to go to, it’s certainly not the cheapest. You’ll be paying a decent bit for it. So, that begs the question as to whether or not it’s actually worth the price.
Thankfully, that seems to be the case. While the price could fluctuate depending on the time of year, what the RV resort offers is worth the relatively premium price. You’re paying for what you’re getting here, and there are quite a few positive features here.
It’s a more comfortable, resort-like camp to stay in, and the price reflects that. If it’s within your budget, though, it could be one of the better options to go for.
Southern Utah is one of the nicer places to head to for an RV trip. The national parks alone could be more than worth it. But, does that mean Settler’s Junction RV Resort is worth basing yourself from when you’re there? It looks like it could be.
You’ll have to pay a relatively premium price for your booking, but there’s quite a lot on offer with it. The on-site amenities, nearby national parks, and more than a few other factors make it an interesting option. You could definitely do a whole lot worse.
