Stone Brewing Company's Calm Before the Storm!

Stone Brewing Company is reimagining Super Bowl Sunday into a Super Sunday Cellar–Bration called "The Calm Before the Storm." To kick off this celebration, Stone Brewery is pulling out the rarest beers from the cellar and closing down the restaurant (and their one acre garden) in order to create the perfect Stone rare beer experience.

Guests will have the ability to roam all of the grounds and relax wherever they please. As an attendee, you get a choice of eight 3 ounce samples, with pouring stations held throughout the Bistro. Barrel–aged beers include the StoneWall Ale aged in Bourbon Barrels (12.2%), the 2008 Stone Imperial Russian Stout (11.9%), and the 2008 Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine aged in Red Wine Barrels (11.3%).

Barrel–aged beers not your thing? You can try one of the Stone Brewing Company's vintage beers, including their 2003 Stone Imperial Russian Stout (9.5%) or the 2005 Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine (11.3%). There are even some special creations that they will have available to taste, such as the Sawyer’s Triple (8%) and the Wittier Moron (10%).

On top of sampling beers, guests can feast on the special menu of seven courses that are paired by "Dr." Bill Sysak with beer. Some of the Super Bowl foods on the menu include the xi’an–style smashed Chinese meatball, which has ground pork with sichuan sauce and Dijon mustard sandwiched between a steamed bun, or a pulled pork chile verde garnished with spicy jalapeno crema, cotija cheese and pickled onions. Try something out of the ordinary with PB&J stuffed jalapeno poppers, which are grilled and stuffed with a mixture of creamy peanut butter and jelly. For something on the sweeter side, try the Guajillo–spiced spanish churro, which is fried until crispy and dusted with ground guajillo chiles and sugar. My favorite? The bacon and peanut butter chocolate–dipped cookies that are hand-dipped in dark chocolate.

The Stone Brewing Company "Calm Before the Storm" event takes place at the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens in Escondido at 1999 Citracado Parkway on February 7th, 2016 from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. Tickets are $65 for a regular ticket and $40 for a designated driver ticket. Both are available for purchase online at Stone Brewing Company.
