North Coast Repertory Theater is proud to have back the local favorite variety show, Tuesday Night Comics on April 18th at 7:30pm.

Mark Christopher Lawrence, San Diego Critics Circle winner and the 2012 Outstanding Actor of the Year, comes to North Coast Rep to host a thrilling new lineup of incredible talent from all over the country with credits in late night television and credits from HBO and Showtime.

Tuesday Night Comics is pretty one of the funniest nights of comedy you will find in San Diego. "Tuesday Night Comics began running January 20th, 2009 to a sold out audience," said Lawrence. "This collaboration between NCR and Prayer Dudz has proven to be an NCR audience favorite." Mark Christopher Lawrence will share the stage with a list of his incredibly talented comedian friends.  Justin Rivera will start the night off as the opening act. Following Rivera will be Dusty Nix as the musical act and Dustin Nickerson as the featured act. Don Friesen will end the night as the headliner. "Although billed as rated R, I strive to stage a clean comedy show with the talents of local musical acts and up and coming comedians and nationally known headliners,’ stated Lawrence. "Each show is 90 minutes of hilarious diverse comedy that have regulars and first time audience members laughing til it hurts."

Host Mark Christopher Lawrence is an international headliner who has worked with some of the best comedians around, like Jerry Seinfeld and Jeff Foxworthy, Lawrence has headlined clubs and colleges all over the USA and Canada. You may have seen him on TV in shows like GLEE, "Heroes," "Reba," and "Grounded For Life." You can currently see Mark Thursday nights on the Sportsman Channel’s "Amazing America" with Sarah Palin.

Featured act performer Dustin Nickerson was a finalist in San Diego’s Funniest Person Contest and he won the San Diego Clean Comedy Competition. Nickerson has performed in many clubs, colleges and churches all throughout the country. Dustin jokes about his marriage, kids, culture and childhood which brings into his life. Many would describe his brand of comedy as original, observational, relatable and engaging. You may have seen him on TV in "Laughs" on FOX and is a weekend regular at dozens of clubs across the country, He has been showcased for Comedy Central "Up Next" and has been heard on the Daren Streblow Comedy SHow. "The world’s most average person" is how he describes himself but he is far from it when he is on stage.

The headliner, Don Friesen, has a one-hour hilarious Showtime special  but you have got to see him live! Don is engaging, clever and just flat out hysterical as he uses character, voices, parodies and some of the best written routines around to capture the irony of parenting, marriage and everyday ridiculousness. Friesen’s credits include Showtime, Live at Gotham and Comics Unleashed. He is also very popular on KLOS’ 5:0 Funnies and XM Sirius satellite radio.

The opening act of the night, Justin Rivera, is a comedic magician from the Magic Castle in Hollywood. Rivera was named a judges’ favorite on NBC’s "America's Got Talent" and has been featured appearances on Comedy Central with Adam Corolla, Dave Attel and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. He has performed during the live broadcast of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. Rivera has been a magic consultant for  McDonald’s marketing campaign and was a magic consultant and magician for Grammy-nominated band OneRepublic music video "Love Runs Out."

Musical act, Dusty Nix is known for for his soulful singing and virtuosic guitar playing. Nix uses country, rock, and hip hop in order to create that unique blend of true American roots music. His variety of songs showcases many genres and his unconditional love for music. Dusty isn’t just a solo artist, he performs in an American Duo, an alternative rock band, a hip hop group and also does some electronic music DJing. Dusty will inspire you to sing along with him heartfelt songwriting and riveting performances.
