Best Apps Ever for Control Freaks

If having access to your most important files anywhere, any time and on your favorite computer is a sign of being a control freak, then yes, I am one!  I don't need a twelve step program to get over this one, just a cool app to let me do what needs to get done.

I have two favorites for this "control issue": LogMeIn and Splashtop

LogMeIn

LogMeIn is my single most favorite app of all time.  It is so flexible,  you can control your favorite computer(s) from anywhere in the world and from multiple devices.  LogMeIn has an app for both the iPad and iPhone, and it also works through any web browser.  Access your computer by simply logging in through the LogMeIn web site and select the computer you need to control - it's like you're sitting there in front of it with the "at home" advantage.  Work on large files, sent emails from home, whatever - from anywhere in the world!

Splashtop

Splashtop is my closest runner up for productivity and my number one app for fun away from home.  Running solely as an application for i-devices, Splashtop runs like a native iPad application, allowing you to control your computer remotely with fancy iPad finger gestures and swipes.  In addition to the amazing remote control features, Splashtop gives you a backdoor to Flash animation on your i-device by streaming all the video and audio from your computer straight through to your i-device, with no laggy delays or audio-video sync problems.  I LOVE IT for watching my favorite shows on the fly.

I purchased LogMeIn for about $19 and Splashtop for about $2.  They're both more than worth it.  Check them out and enjoy the feeling of being in control!
