From high-end malls to tiny boutiques San Diego has it all. You no longer have to travel to Los Angeles or New York to stay in style you can find great places to shop right here. Believe it there are so many options. The mall is always great.. that is if you want to run into the same top you are wearing.
I know what you’re thinking if you shouldn’t shop at the mall where should you go? Where are some nice places you can find something cute and original? Well.. boutiques are always the way to go. You spend less money because you don’t impulse shop while finding something you love that is like fine wine; appreciating with time. I mean, who doesn’t like wine and shopping? It’s a match made in heaven. But, not far from the beaten path you can find the best boutiques right here in San Diego.
The following places may transform how you view shopping and hopefully help you see style with a new lens. Here are a few interesting boutiques to shop at in Downtown San Diego:
Bubbles Boutique

Bubbles Boutique Downtown Women's Clothing
In the heart of downtown San Diego located inside Gaslamp quarter, lys a cute little shop called Bubble’s Boutique. Bubble’s is a cute classic shop with all the trinkets and souvenirs a tourist could dream of. I think this place is definitely an experience in itself. The black and white stripes clothe the shop giving it such a unique look. Owned by Gayleen Nichols who’s motto "life’s too short to be stuck inside one fashion box" describes her shop completely. This "whimsical, cozy little boutique" sells shoes, boots, jewelry and gifts. This shop is good for finding something you know no one else will have. If you are a fashionista or refuse to follow the repetitive fashion trends, then Bubble’s is for you. There’s so much to see and no items are exactly the same. Check it out, you might find something you will treasure.

Lolo Boutique
On the north side of San Diego Bay near the Marina City Walk is a cute little contemporary shop called LoLo. Opened in 2001 this women’s clothing store gives you endless beach vibes, with their beach bum tops, sun hats, sundresses and causal beachwear. If you are living near the beach, I’m sure you’ll love LoLo. Everything you will ever need if you are planning to spend a day at the beach is scattered all around LoLo. My favorite is the cute comfortable OluKai sandals, perfect for walking down the pier. The shop is definitely inspired by the typical California surfer, or in this case surfer-ette. Give it a try, you might unknowingly find a brand you won't hesitate to purchase a second time.

No stay in the Del Mar area is complete without a visit to the Del Mar Plaza.

Library Shop:
Clothes are always nice to shop for but it’s also nice to lounge around with a good book on a lazy Sunday. For all your reading needs the library Shop is the perfect place to find good books. Whether you are looking for yourself or a gift for a special someone, you are sure to find it at this amazing little book spot. The best thing about this shop isn’t just the books, it’s the shop’s story. The library shop is in partnership with San Diego Public Library Foundation and the friends of the library, and all the proceeds taken from each item will benefit the San Diego public library system. Meaning children will have a chance to fall in love with books just like you have. The books are carefully chosen along with jewelry, children’s merchandise, gifts, and art. This place great for finding special books you may have never read before. They also have a loyalty card for every $200 you spend, either online or in stores, you’ll get $20 back in store credit. It sounds like a win-win to me! If you are into reading and want to find a few special books your local bookworm has chosen, check out the Library Shop. You will definitely find some hidden treasures here.
Remember ladies shopping isn’t always meant to adorn it’s also meant to build lasting memories. Happy shopping!
Best Boutiques In Past Years
[Updated] With fall quickly approaching and fashion week nearly upon us, it’s time to reflect back on the roots of our fine city, San Diego. California style is always on–trend and ever–evolving and it’s all thanks to our local boutiques. But San Diego is absolutely bursting with boutiques, leaving us wondering which boutiques really take the cake?
Fine Magazine presents our guide to San Diego’s Best Boutique stores. In no particular order.
1. Paris & Me Boutique
1154 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA | Phone (619) 435-0514 | Online: parisandmeboutique.com
Set in sunny Coronado, Paris & Me Boutique is all about the mother-daughter team. Irma Hosn first opened her boutique, Club Paris Boutique, in 1982, catering to locals, tourists and celebrities alike, dressing them in labels imported from Paris from head to toe. Today, her daughter Alexa has taken over the business; she’s lived and breathed fashion since before she can remember. She transformed the boutique by adding a touch of her own refined style and incorporating the business knowledge she learned in college.
The fashion trio of Irma and daughters Alexa and Alana are constantly on the lookout for trends that speak effortless chic. Paris & Me Boutique appeals to ladies who are fashion forward and wear their clothes with confidence. The boutique is full of colorful prints, monochromatic designs, and chic silhouettes. With a true love of fashion and style, Paris & Me offers modern looks that could just as easily be seen on the streets of Paris.

Situated in downtown Rancho Santa Fe, Rancho Santa Fe Jewelers promises a professional and unique jewelry experience. Six years ago, owner Coleen Freeman was immersed in managing a different jewelry store, Marilyn Mulloy Fine Jewelry. Inspired, Freeman purchased the company and moved it to the main street of downtown Rancho Santa Fe, renaming it Rancho Santa Fe Estate & Fine Jewelry.
The fine jewelry store specializes in estate and pre-owned jewelry, which Freeman keeps in the store on consignment until it sells. Some of her current pieces include a breathtaking 40–carat emerald strung on pearls and a 10–carat diamond engagement ring. The inviting jewelry store offers a comfortably modern and classic design and a personal mascot, Sophie the dog. The six-year-old Bichon–Poodle mix sits atop one of the two white chairs at the fine jewelry counter, greeting each customer as they arrive.
