Hillary Clinton vs the People of the United States

Friends, Americans, Patriots: Lend me your ears as we examine one of the major presidential candidates in the 2016 election, one Hillary Clinton.

Unless you’ve been locked away in a deprivation tank for too long, you know that Hillary Clinton

has spent the last year defending herself to both the FBI and the court of public opinion in regards to the Clinton email scandal. The Reader’s Digest version of events: Clinton reportedly used a private email server to send thousands of classified emails during her tenure as Secretary of State. At best, this is a case of poor judgment and a lack of understanding about how confidential information operates; at worst, this breach of national security is a potential federal offense.

Potential being the keyword: as of July 6th, Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced that no charges would be filed against Clinton; on July 7th, the State Department reopened the investigation.

The government (and the country itself ) is well-divided on the Clinton email scandal. While her staunch supporters whole-heartedly believe Clinton can do no wrong, the rest of the country isn’t sure. Perhaps it’s due to the increasingly fishy circumstances surrounding Clinton’s case. Her story about the contents of the emails sent over her private server has changed multiple times throughout the months. Even more damning, her husband, former President Bill Clinton, met with Attorney General Loretta Lynch in private just days before she made her statement regarding the Clinton email scandal. To the surprise of no one, after her private meetings with former President Clinton, Lynch proclaimed no charges be filed. In an even less shocking turn of events, Clinton has since declared that Lynch would continue on as her Attorney General should she be elected President.

Perhaps if this were a one-time scandal—a shocking break from the norm—it would be easier to accept this as

an accidental transgression. Unfortunately, scandal follows Bill and Hillary Clinton wherever they go, and with the scandal follows a stream of lies. From the Monica Lewinsky scandal to the Bengazi scandal, from Travelgate to the Whitewater Controversy, misconduct inevitably travels with the Clintons through every turn of their political careers. Even when it comes to fundraising, the Clintons are shrouded in suspicious activity. The Clinton Foundation has handled billions of dollars of foreign contributions over the years, billions of dollars running though the Clinton Foundation coming through their Canadian Foundation, where the donors do not have to be disclosed. The scandals that follow Bill and Hillary Clinton, this politically self-ordained royalty, are far too long for their short political careers.

But regardless of the dubious information surrounding the Clinton campaign, one thing holds true: the Hillary Clinton email scandal should invalidate her chances at winning the election. Either she knowingly lied and broke the law, or she was accidentally inept and unable to follow security protocols. Neither is the mark of an efficient leader.

The world is watching what may turn out to be the most bought and paid for election in our country’s history. No matter what you think of the nominees running for election this year, one thing is blatantly clear: within the Clinton campaign, something doesn’t quite add up.
