If you’ve found yourself feeling a little sluggish of late, you’re not the only one. As the New Year begins, a lot of people often find themselves in a state of discontent. It’s the post-festive blues and the reality of having to face the grind once again, regardless of what that might look like.
Boosting your mood and energy levels is essential for this time of year but hopefully, if you’re ever in need of it again, then these tips will hopefully provide a use beyond just the New Year slump. Here are four ways to boost your mood and energy levels when they’re down.

Do something that brings you joy
If you’re looking for something that is going to boost your mood, then try and find something that brings you joy. You might already have a long list of activities and things in general that bring you joy. Consider which one is within easy reach or accessible right now and do it.
Doing things that bring you joy is a better way to spend your time than anything else. Try not to stop yourself from doing these things because life is too short to allow any negativity into your life - or to do anything you don’t really want to do.
If you’re able to do a little something that brings you joy every day, then that will be a life well lived.
Indulge in some good food
For many, food is a great way to connect with others. More importantly, though, it’s a way of feeding your body for energy but also feeding your soul.
Indulging in some good food is important, even if it’s not always food that’s deemed ‘healthy’. Everything is best in moderation but sometimes, we just need to remember to enjoy and indulge when required.
You may also find that you can get a mood or energy boost through alternative supplements and sweets like CBD gummies for example. Nourish your body with what it needs, particularly when it comes to food.
Spend time with those who lift your spirits
It’s important to remember that we all need a bit of social connection in our lives to feel human. Whether you’re a social butterfly or you have your two best friends that’s it. It’s good to spend time with people who lift your spirits, rather than to bring you down in any way.
With that being said, find ways to spend time with those who are going to lift you up and make you feel good about yourself - and do it often.
Get the blood pumping with some exercise you love
Some people love exercise, while others loathe it. However, when it comes to doing exercise, it’s always better to do things you love than to do something out of necessity or because you’ve been told to do it. Look at getting the blood pumping with some exercise that you enjoy!
These tips are a great starting point when looking to boost your mood and energy levels into 2025 and beyond.
