Online gaming is the one industry that just keeps on growing. Casino gaming has always been popular but since the internet, it’s grown astronomically. There are more games than ever available at online casinos so there’s a game out there for everyone.
But the one game that is always top of the list is online poker. It’s been a firm favourite with anyone who is into gaming as it’s full of excitement and twists. It’s viewed as being one of the more complex games due to the number of rules and the added difficulty of having to bluff and work out who else is bluffing.
Poker is thought of as being trickier than most games and can therefore be intimidating to beginners. That’s why we’ve put together some variations of poker that are perfect for beginners to play, let’s take a look.

Beginner friendly poker to try
Three Card Poker
Three card poker is a shorter and easier version of poker to play as it involves only three cards. The player is playing against the dealer, so you have to beat the dealer’s hand.
Bets are placed at the beginning of the game and then three cards are dealt to both the player and the dealer. Everyone has to decide whether to fold or continue playing the game by placing an additional wager equal to their ante that they placed at the beginning.
The player and the dealer will then reveal their cards and whoever has the best hand will win the game. The dealer has to have a card higher than a Queen in order to win.
Razz
Razz poker is the opposite of traditional poker in that it’s the lowest hand that wins. In razz poker, aces are high and there are no straights or flushes when it comes to sets of cards.
The way to play is that the players all ante up before the cards are dealt. Each player is then given two cards face down which are known as the hole cards, and one card face up which is called the "door card".
Whoever has the highest door card starts off the betting but remember that there is a fixed amount that can be bet per player in every round played. A new card is dealt each round until the fifth card which is when the bets are allowed to double.
The game is then played until players fold and there is a winner or until the dealer runs out of cards. At this point, the person with the lowest hand wins.
2 - 7 Triple Draw Poker
Another great beginner’s poker game is 2 - 7 Triple Draw Poker. The rules of the game are basically the same as razz but there’s one little difference between them. In 2 - 7 Triple Draw, you’re allowed to swap out any cards you don’t like for new ones from the deck.
The goal of the game is still to get the hand with the lowest cards, so make sure you’re swapping out those larger cards at any chance you get.

Why playing poker online is best for beginners
Less intense than playing in person
Playing anything for the first time can be intimidating. You need to get to know the rules of the game, as well as working out what your strategy is going to be. This can be tricky, especially if you’re having a hard time remembering everything that’s going on.
That’s why playing poker online is the best way for beginners to play. You’re a little more removed from the other players and you don’t have the added stress of being watched by them. Of course, this can make it more difficult to get to know who’s bluffing - but that’s best left until you’re more confident in the game anyway.
Being able to just concentrate on the game in front of you is the only way you’re going to get to grips with the game. It’s a less intense way to start your poker playing journey - perfect for beginners.
Lots of tutorials to watch
There are always lots of good online tutorials to watch if you’re looking for some insider tips and tricks. One of the best things about the internet is that you can find out how to do pretty much anything. There’s a tutorial out there for everything - including how to play poker.
So, if you’re stuck with a certain rule or how to be better at bluffing, look for a tutorial and you’re bound to find what you’re looking for. You can always save the videos for later so you can look at them whenever you’re stuck.

Now you’ve got the lowdown on the best poker games for beginners, the only thing left to do is play. Which game do you like the look of the most?
