Your home should be the place where you feel your best. In order to make this happen, it’s going to require that you take care of it well, right? This means ensuring that it’s well maintained, that you’re sorting out problems as they arise rather than leaving them to fester, and that you are cleaning regularly.
A common mistake that people make is that they only clean the areas that are immediately visible to them. So, they clean the floors, they clean the countertops, they clean all of the general areas that they can think of, but they don’t clean those harder to reach areas. That’s not okay, and your home is not going to thank you for this.
In this article, we’re going to be taking a look at this, though, so soon you should have a more solid understanding of exactly where you need to deep clean more regularly. Interested in learning more? Let’s keep reading.

The Gaps Between Cabinets
We’re going to kick things off by talking about those pesky gaps between cabinets. While they are a huge pain in the behind to get to, you need to make sure that you are getting down there regularly. You might struggle, and you might even need to purchase a specific cleaning tool that is thin enough to get in there and clean properly, but if that’s what you’ve got to do, that’s what you’ve got to do.
People often think that because it’s tough to get down there, this means that it’s unlikely it’s going to cause you any issues, but this is not true at all. If you’re constantly, accidentally dropping little crumbs and pieces of food down there, and then you have the natural debris that’s falling down there, you could end up with ants or some other kind of pest that is looking for food. As such, it’s important that you are trying to minimize the amount of debris that’s falling down here, and clean it somewhat regularly. You don’t need to do this every time you clean, but you should be looking to do this once a month or so.
Under Appliances
Don’t be one of those people who doesn’t move appliances to clean under them. Do you have any idea how much grime gets here? There are many who don’t seem to think that any dirt and mess can get under here, but that’s not true at all and that’s how you’re going to end up with issues. When you’re cleaning your countertops, you should be moving everything that you can get under, behind, to the side, and all over the space.
Under your toaster and under your microwave are going to be particularly dirty if you haven’t cleaned under them in a while. To be honest with you, you should be moving your appliances every single time you’re cleaning the sides, but we know that this is a lot for someone just trying to complete a quick clean. So, instead, you should be deep cleaning the countertops once a week, moving everything out of the way, and getting all the dirt.
Your Dryer Vents
When was the last time that you cleaned your dryer vents? This is one of the areas of the home that people avoid cleaning the most because it’s a pain in the behind to do, and it’s not the most pleasant job in the world. However, most people are under the impression that it’s just lint that builds up in there anyway, so it shouldn’t be much of a problem, right? Wrong. The build up is actually a mixture of things such as pet hair, wool fibers, fibers from other clothes and more according to research conducted by Pure Air. You can read more about what’s actually in your dryer vents to encourage you to clean them, but you still need to know how to do this.
Ideally, you should be cleaning them every couple of weeks to ensure that they don’t get blocked up, and it’s pretty straight forward to do. However, there are companies that offer you a dryer vent cleaning service, so if it’s not a task that you want to take on either because it’s in an awkward place or you simply don’t like doing it, you don’t have to.
Refrigerator

If you look in your refrigerator, does it look clean? Or, are there subtle signs that it’s not? Perhaps there’s a mark on one of the shelves where something spilled that you never cleaned up properly? Perhaps there are the first traces of mold growing on the back because you haven’t cleaned it in years.
It’s common for people to think it’s okay to not clean the refrigerator regularly, but it isn’t. You want to be doing a complete deep clean once per month, sometimes maybe even more depending on what’s been going on in your fridge. By doing this, you’re keeping your food fresh, and you’re ensuring that you’re not creating a breeding ground for anything.
To do this, all you need to do is empty out the refrigerator, including the shelves on the door, and then clean it all. Use paper towels or a scrubbing brush to get all of the dirt off, and find a cleaner that is suitable to use inside your refrigerator. Make sure that you do this, because you don’t want to use the wrong cleaning solution and damage your refrigerator.
Hopefully, you have found this article helpful, and now see some of the different areas and items in your home that need deep cleaning more regularly than you might think. We understand that it’s a lot for anyone to do, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t need to do it. The longer that you put off tasks like this, the more difficult it’s going to be when you do eventually get around to it, and we know that this is not what you want. So, deep clean them on a semi-regular basis and everything should be fine.
