5 Ways to Make a Small Room Feel Bigger

We all want big homes, and we often dream of living in a million-dollar mansion. Unfortunately, for most of us, this is just a fantasy. In reality, some of us live in small homes with tiny spaces we would like to decorate.

However, tiny homes are more cozy, homely, and comforting than more extensive properties. Plus, you can easily make a room feel more spacious. It’s time to celebrate our small houses by changing the interior of our tiny rooms.

Wooden Floors

Remove your fluffy, dark carpets and install fresh flooring that’ll make your room feel sleeker. There is a range of wood flooring colors to choose from, and we’d recommend whitewash panels. Lighter colors make space feel brighter, roomier, and fresher. Carpets are lovely, but for your smaller spaces, try to stick to wooden panels.

Lots of Mirrors

Install mirrors and lots of them! A big mirror will instantly make a room look larger than it is, as lots of reflection will play tricks on your eyes. Mirrors will also invite a lot of natural light into a house, which will make a room look more vibrant and welcoming. Go for big mirrors on a mantlepiece or lots of little ones to create a modern design.

Clear Clutter

Lots of mess will make a place feel cramped and small. Big rooms can get away with more clutter, whereas it’s essential to keep smaller spaces clean. So invest in generous storage space that’s tucked away. For example, have a bed with a drawer underneath it, where you can stash away shoes to keep the floors clean.

Think White

Always go for lighter shades of paint in a small room, and very tiny spaces, go white. Paint the walls, floors, and cupboards white. Then insert color through cushions, blankets, and paintings. If in doubt, think lighter colors. Especially if you want a living, you like to live in as it will help the place to feel fresh and welcoming, not dingy and dull.

Go Simple

Don’t over-complicate the interior design, but instead use a few statement pieces to style the room. Think big pieces of art or furniture rather than several smaller bits. Use a large block of color to stand out against the white walls, making the place look modern and spacious. The room will appear to look more comfortable.

Enjoy Your Space.

It’s time to appreciate your home and to enjoy spending time there. Tiny homes hold so many possibilities, and so it’s time to embrace the space. Get excited about how to use interior design to make a room feel bigger and brighter.

Take time to get to know your style and how you can inject your personality into the place you call home. You may dream of a mansion, but tiny homes are cozier, friendly, and more inviting than larger properties. So it’s time to appreciate your humble abode.
