Sense and Sensibility at The Old Globe Theatre

Sense and Sensibility

From July 6th to August 14th, experience the revitalization of Jane Austen’s classic novel Sense and Sensibility into musical form at The Old Globe theatre on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage. Showings are at either 7pm or 8pm with 2pm weekend matinees. Previews run July 6th through July 13th.

In Sense and Sensibility, after their father’s untimely death, sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood lose their home, their fortune, and all prospects of love––but luck can change in a flash! As the plucky heroines face their situation head on with courage and resolve, audiences will fall in love with Austen’s era in a whole new way. Austen’s beloved novel inspires readers’ imaginations, and now Tony Award nominee Paul Gordon (The Old Globe’s Emma, Broadway’s Jane Eyre) inspires theatregoers again by converting the timeless classic into a thrilling and romantic musical.

Mickey (Costume Design), Donald Holder (Lighting Design), Ray Nardelli (Sound Design), Tony Award winners Larry Hochman and Bruce Coughlin (Orchestrations), Curtis Moore (Music Supervisor and Additional Arrangements), Harrison McEldowney (Original Production Choreographer).
