How to Decorate Your Home for Halloween on a Budget

Halloween is an exciting time for both adults and children. The decorations, confectionery, costumes, and the fact that Christmas is just a few months away get every adult and child excited about it. Every year, people spend a lot of money on their Halloween decorations. But what if this year, you approached things a little differently? How about celebrating Halloween on a budget?

First and foremost, you must know that there are sites that sell Halloween decorations and costumes at very low prices without compromising on the quality. So, you can do your research about these websites, and even better if you can buy them on clearance sales. Apart from this, here are some other ways in which you can decorate your home for the spooky season on a budget.

A Lawn Decorated With a Cardboard Graveyard

Transform the cardboard that is lying around your house into a graveyard. First, you can cut the cardboard pieces into the shape of tombstones and paint them to look realistic. For a playful touch, you can also write RIP on the stone with funny names such as Izzy Dead Yet, Anita Shovel, U.R Next, and Willy Rott.

On top of that, you can convert the big cardboard boxes into coffins and place them around your lawn. You can also use boxes to give the shape of spooky creatures and cover them with white sheets. See, for the lawn, there are no rules, and you can be as creative as you want. Once your lawn is all set for the festival, get ready in a cute and unique Halloween costume for adorable pictures.

Turn Your Old Gloves Into Creepy Hands

If you have a pair of old dishwashing gloves, you can turn them into creepy hands. Simply get some plaster of Paris and stuff it inside the gloves to create hands. Remember, you can mold it into any shape you want as long as the POP has not dried. Once the plaster of Paris mixture has dried, cut the gloves and unveil the creepy hand underneath. To make them look even spookier, take out your acrylic paint and start painting in red to give the illusion of blood-stained hands.

Take Out Your Christmas Lights

Who said that Christmas lights are just for Christmas? You can use it for Halloween as well. After all, it is all about the context and the surrounding decoration. Get a skeleton model from an online website that sells Halloween decorations and surround it with your Christmas lights. If you want to celebrate Halloween on a budget, you have to repurpose your decorations. The best part is you can put your lights up in October and keep them until December. This way, you save time, money, and effort!

DIY Spiderwebs

Fake spiderwebs are an easy and straightforward way to incorporate the spooky Halloween vibe. But did you know that you could make them yourself? You just need a few off-the-shelf products, such as synthetic or plastic thread and glue. You can also use wool for the web effect. The choice is yours. However, synthetic ones are more sturdy and durable. To make the cobweb, dunk the threads into liquid glue and start joining different pieces to give a web effect. Make sure you are wearing gloves for this and have already cut the thread pieces, as it can get messy.

Turn Your Old White Sheets and Sacks Into Ghosts

Get your old white sheets out and make ghosts out of them. For this, all you need to do is get some empty sacks and fill them with cotton or old cloth pieces. Now tie it in half, giving the illusion that the top portion is the head of the ghost. Then, grab the white sheets and cover the sacks with them. This is a fun and easy DIY decoration that anybody can do.

And just like that, you will be able to decorate your home for Halloween without having to spend a lot of money. One thing that you need to remember is that although these DIYs sound fun, they are time-consuming. So, make sure you have ample time on hand before you start decorating your home.
